Goodbye and Farewell

Today's post is my 1200th to the Mad Welshman blog.  I have been doing this with some regularity for five and a half years now.  During this time I have managed to enlist a dedicated following of about ten regular readers.  By any measure of success the Mad Welshman blog is a fabulous failure.  But then again, I didn't start this blog in order to succeed.  I started it to give me an outlet for my anger at the stupid things I see around me every day.
In recent months the self imposed responsibility to post to this blog five times a week went from being a pleasure to a burden.  Other responsibilities have weighed upon my limited time resources making it harder and harder to put up a steady stream of high quality drivel.  As I look back upon the 1200 posts to this blog it seems to me as if I have generally dealt with about a dozen different topics about a hundred times each.  I think by now I have made whatever point I was trying to make and I see no reason to continue repeating myself.
Just this morning, as I was going for my morning doughnut, I was almost involved in a car accident with a crazed Yuppie woman driving an SUV.  As it turned out she was in a hurry to get her morning cup of coffee and the rest of us were expected to get out of her way.  Just this morning I saw a photograph of a bunch of God hating Democrats huddled together praying for their Republican colleagues who were being shot at while practicing for a charity baseball game.  Why God haters expect the God of the Bible to hear their prayers mystifies me.  Just this morning I read a story in the paper about how almost 200 Democrats have filed suit against King Donnie, alleging that he has broken the Constitution by retaining his profit seeking businesses.  Just this morning I looked at my calendar and saw that it was Flag Day.  I assume that means I am required to fly the holy icon at my home today in order to avoid being classified as unpatriotic.  Just this morning I saw a news report that it was a Bernie supporter who took a gun to a Congressional Republican baseball practice and shot the place up.  Why is it that liberals always resort to violence?  Since getting up this morning I have been in a continual state of moral outrage but, unlike other days, I am not going to write about it today.
Thanks to all of you who have been regular readers of this blog.  Thanks to all of you who have made comments to this blog.  I always enjoyed reading what you had to say to me.  And thanks to anyone who reads anything posted in this blog in the years to come.  I will check back every once in a while and see if anyone has commented on any of my posts.  Since I know absolutely nothing about how to operate a website I suspect this blog will continue on this site until someone comes along and takes it down.  I have no idea if and when that will happen.  In the meantime, goodbye to you all and farewell.

The Fruits Of Progressive Politics

Those folks who call themselves progressives do so to distinguish themselves from those who believe that the old ways were generally good ways.  Progressives presuppose that every behavior from the past was immoral and needs to be changed to keep up with some utopian view of what human behavior should actually look like.  Those who are not progressive are labeled regressive or conservative to make the point that they refuse to embrace changes that are allegedly good for all of us.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The old ways are the good ways and the progress made in the society of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika during my lifetime is all bad.  Just for the fun of it I am going to give you ten examples of "progress" made by the progressives that are, in realty, simply a descent into sinfulness.  All of these changes have taken place during my lifetime.  Please consider the following ten behaviors that were previously considered sinful but are now considered normal:
  1. Abortion.  1973 was the year the Supreme Court of Jokers of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika decided that a woman could conspire with a government approved medical agent to murder her pre-born baby and not be legally guilty of murder.  That watershed case clearly established the progressive agenda of turning traditional morality on its head by turning the opposite behavior into a virtue.  Evangelical Christians in this country still stupidly invoke God to bless us, despite our rampant hate for Him and His law.  Let me make one thing perfectly clear.  God will never bless a nation that murders over a million of its own citizens every single year and calls that behavior good.
  2. Shacking Up.  Shacking up is the slang expression we used to use to describe what happens when unmarried couples live together in order to make it easier for them to engage in premarital sex.  Although it is nearly impossible for a young person to understand today, premarital sex used to be considered to be a grievous sin.  Today, however, it is considered to be a good thing as shacking up allows a couple to decide if they are compatible enough to get married.  After living together for many years couples then decide whether they want to marry or not.  Many do not so they move on to their next living arrangement.  Those who engage in the practice of shacking up, which is most everyone these days, do not realize that God considers their behavior to be an act of marriage and will judge them for adultery when they move on to their next sex partner.
  3. Drunkenness.  It used to be shameful to be a drunk.  Today, thanks to the incessant stream of psychobabble emanating from the mouths of government approved medical agents, drunkenness is somehow considered to be a disease like syphilis or lung cancer.  The ability of the progressives to completely destroy language and the meaning of particular words is on display here.  Behaviors that were previously considered to be moral choices are now symptoms of an underlying physical, chemical or biological disease.  Make no mistake, God will not be mocked.  If you are a drunk you will be judged for your behavior.  If you catch a cold you will not.
  4. Military Worship.  This is probably the most recent change on this list.  Since 9/11 the citizens of this country have become completely incapable of taking a critical view about the role of the SDA military and the actions of the SDA soldier.  The movement began when the "support our troops" propaganda campaign started during our invasion of Iraq in search of non-existent weapons of mass destruction.  No longer was it considered important to ask if the actions of the troops were moral.  All that mattered now was that we must support them no matter what they do.  That opened the door to the disgusting spectacle of soldier worship that we all live with today.  How I long for the good old days of the Vietnam war when most of the citizens of this country treated soldiers according to what they deserved, which was nothing but contempt and ridicule.
  5. LGBTXYZ Normalization.  It was not that long ago that homosexual behavior was illegal.  That does not mean that homosexual behavior did not take place, as I am quite sure that it did.  It does mean that homosexual behavior was confined to the closet, where it belongs.  Progressives have been so successful at turning a previously immoral action into a virtuous one that anyone, like myself, who dares to criticize a homosexual, transvestite, queer, weirdo, freakazoid, or any other type of pervert is now considered to be the immoral one.  Make no mistake.  God will not be mocked and His opinion on this matter has not changed.  The judgement will be severe for those who normalize and sanctify sexual perversion.
  6. Democracy.  I know, this one is hard to believe.  I was raised to believe that the United States was a Constitutional Republic that had a Constitution that existed to protect and preserve the rights of the minority groups in this land.  Nobody ever talked about how the majority should rule over the rest of us.  Nobody ever even used the word democracy.  Nobody believed we lived in a democracy.  Now all of that has changed.  We have constant and perpetual political war in this country for the very simple reason that we have become a functional democracy where the majority obtains the right to plunder the minority until the next election cycle changes the power structure.  Voting is now done to either steal from one group in order to gain something for myself or to protect one group from the depredations of another.  The progressives have successfully convinced the historically ignorant citizens of this immoral land that it has always been this way.
  7. The Specter of Over Regulation.  There have always been government regulations but the scope of government regulations today far supersedes any other time in the history of this envy-filled country.  I sold strawberries on the street as a boy without obtaining a government license and nobody ever complained or sought to have me arrested.  My brothers and I walked or biked for miles from our home without ever having our parents arrested for child abuse.  Today everything is regulated and those regulations are created, via the democratic process, to give one group special privileges and deny those privileges to another.  There is no reason why a hairdresser should be required to have a government license except to exclude competition by people who want to dress hair and do not have a license.  The same can be said for doctors, lawyers, stock brokers, real estate brokers and a host of other licensed professions.  We are over regulated because people practice democracy and use government to give themselves a competitive advantage in the marketplace.  All of it is immoral.
  8. The Preponderance of Arrogance.  My generation was raised to respect our opponents.  Sportsmanship was an important part of our early instruction and the lessons learned by being a good sport, while either winning or losing, were also expected to carry over into our adult lives.  Today sportsmanship no longer exists, having been replaced with an in-your-face, trash-talking, bragging, selfish arrogance that is hard for me to watch.  Being a gentleman is no longer the proper way to live.  Indeed, the progressives have enshrined arrogance as a virtue and praise those who most frequently display it.  How sad it all is.
  9. Demandingness.  I am not sure if that is a word or not but it gets to my next point.  Demandingness is that behavior whereby each person demands that everyone else acquiesce to his will.  When others do not submit to the will of the person doing the demanding he rushes to government for protection or the granting of civil rights that will allow him to successfully execute his demands.  I visited a local bike shop the other day.  While visiting I noticed that the shop had a coffee pot and I inquired about obtaining a cup of coffee.  I was informed that I could have a cup of coffee on the house but I could not have any coffee drink that included steamed milk because the local government official had dropped by the bike shop and informed the owners that serving coffee with steamed milk products in it is illegal without a license.  The bike shop owners later learned that a lady who has a coffee shop down the block from the bike shop had spied upon them and notified the authorities that they were serving coffee with steamed milk products in it.  That sinful and hateful lady has learned the perfect lesson of demandingness as she used the power of civil government to control the behavior of others and bend them to her will.
  10. The Glorification of Obsessive/Compulsive Behavior.  People used to feel sorry for obsessive/compulsive people because they saw just how much damage o/c behavior does to the lives of those who practice it.  Yes, everyone recognized that o/c people accomplished great things but they also realized that the price paid to reach those accomplishments was steep, usually resulting the the destruction of their families and, sometimes, poverty.  Today o/c people make the front page of the newspaper and go viral on the internet with regularity.  Anyone who can do something that requires o/c behavior is now labeled as dedicated to a singular purpose and praised for what he accomplishes.  The obsession with "conquering" Everest is a fine example of this behavior.  The compulsion to climb all of the 14ers in a new record time is another.  The o/c desire to run a marathon a week for a year is another.  These people make the news and are described as heroic by those who worship them but most of the time they are just using their o/c habits to anesthetize them to the harsh realities of life that surround them.  All Yuppies, about whom I have written much over the years, are fine examples of this horrific malady.  May God have mercy upon their souls.

Calling Upon All Cops To Quit

Cops are reputed to be heroes.  Cops are reputed to be paragons of virtue.  Cops are reputed to be the pillars of our civilized society.  Cops are reputed to be role models.  Cops are reputed to be worthy of our utmost respect and unquestioned allegiance and support.  If all of those things are true then I have one thing I want to say to every cop who has ever put on a badge.  Please, please, please, quit your job today.
If the men and women who wear the badge are the type of people I am told they are they need to get out of the policing business as soon as possible.  It does not matter if you are close to retirement.  It does not matter if you are close to getting fully vested in your pension.  It does not matter if your disability checks are about to start arriving in the mail.  All that matters is the fact that you are being forced to enforce a system of law that is wildly immoral and oppressive.  How any person with the high moral character of a cop could continue to work under those circumstances is a mystery to me.
Go here to read the story about the cop who shut down the vegetable stand of an innocent citizen of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika who was simply trying to serve a few consumers and earn a couple of bucks.  The California man in the story was simply trying to sell some vegetables on a street corner without first having the permission of the civil government.  Although it is clearly not immoral for someone to sell vegetables to someone else the man was arrested by the officer shown in the photograph for his actions.  Although it is clearly not within the scope of operations for civil government to arrest a man for engaging in voluntary business transactions, the cop arrested the man nevertheless.  What the cop did was immoral. What the cop did was wrong.  How can such a highly moral and noble person stoop to such an immoral low?
When asked why he arrested the man for selling vegetables the cop's superiors responded, "Selling food on street corners violates county ordinances and public health codes. Persistent street vending harms local businesses, especially small, start-up food vendors."  Apparently these highly moral men somehow failed to recognize the fact that arresting a man running a small local business as a start-up food vendor ended up harming his business as well.  How could they have not seen such an obvious truth?  How can such a heroic member of the community behave so badly?
Cops are routinely called upon to enforce immoral laws.  Those who enforce immoral laws are behaving immorally.  There is no way around the logically and morally necessary conclusion that the enforcement of immoral laws is an immoral act.  There is no way around the logically and morally necessary conclusion that those who enforce immoral laws are behaving immorally.  So how can it be that the most heroic, noble, brave and moral people in our country are involved in so many despicable acts of immorality?
The Supreme Court of Jokers of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika has ruled that cops can stop citizens who are driving their cars at any time and for any reason.  Go here for the story that describes how, "Police can stop, arrest and search citizens without reasonable suspicion or probable cause. In a 5-3 ruling in Utah v. Strieff, the U.S. Supreme Court effectively gave police a green light to embark on a fishing expedition of one’s person and property, rendering Americans completely vulnerable to the whims of any cop on the beat."  It is immoral for police officers to stop, detain, search and arrest people who are doing nothing immoral.  How can such morally enlightened people engage in such activities?  But it gets worse.
The story goes on to report that, "Police can use the “fear for my life” rationale as an excuse for shooting unarmed individuals. Upon arriving on the scene of a nighttime traffic accident, an Alabama police officer shot a driver exiting his car, mistakenly believing the wallet in his hand to be a gun. From the time the driver stumbled out of his car, waving his wallet in the air, to the time he was shot in the abdomen, only six seconds had elapsed"  How can such courageous people behave so fearfully?  How can such brave souls so viciously gun down innocent citizens of the SDA?  How can such heroic and moral figures behave so immorally?
I will answer the question I repeatedly ask in today's blog post.  The reason heroic and moral people like cops behave so immorally is entirely due to the fact they are enforcing a multitude of immoral laws.  Since the law is not going to change, indeed, it is likely to only get worse, it is the moral responsibility of all cops to resign from their positions and to do so immediately.  So I am pleading with those of you who are employed as cops.  Please, please, please resign your positions today.  It is the moral thing to do.

I Like Obamacare

I like Obamacare.  No, I don't like the fact that my premiums for health insurance have quadrupled in the past six years.  No, I don't like the fact that my health insurance now covers me for pregnancy (I am a man and although I am no expert on these things, I don't think I can become pregnant).  No, I don't like the fact that my health insurance now covers me for a nervous breakdown, being a drunk, being a drug addict or just being generally depressed and needing the services of a government approved talk therapist.  And I most certainly do not like the fact that my taxes are now being used to pay for the people who just don't want to pay for their own health insurance, thus forcing me to subsidize their health insurance costs.  But there is one thing I like about Obamacare.  No, let me correct that, there is one thing I love about Obamacare.  Let me tell you about that thing today.
According to the May 20th edition of the Denver Post, "Planned Parenthood says it will close clinics in Longmont, Parker and four others in the region, citing a tough financial landscape in the reproductive health care field due to effects of the Affordable Care Act.  'We supported the ACA because we love the idea of more people having health insurance and increasing access to the critical services that they need, but a lot of our patients were self-pay.' said Whitney Phillips, spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.  'They would come in and get a pap smear and pay out of pocket.  Under the ACA a lot of patients were given the opportunity to be on Medicaid.  Again, that is wonderful, but it meant that rather than bill them directly we had to bill Medicaid.  And Medicaid reimburses at a very low rate.'"
Well there you have it.  The Socialist Democracy of Amerika's top abortion mill is having to close some of its shops because Obamacare has made them unprofitable.  What a wonderfully ironic state of affairs this is.  PP used to be able to bill the women who came in to kill their babies directly but now, thanks to Obamacare, all of those women are now receiving Medicaid.  As the recipients of the socialized government health care program known as Medicaid they no longer have to pay their own bills.  Unfortunately for PP however is the fact that Medicaid, like all other government programs, is horribly inefficient.  Companies that rely on income streams from Medicaid quickly go out of business because Medicaid does not pay enough to keep them afloat.  So PP finds itself in the position of having to close some of its abortion mills because they are no longer profitable.  What is not to love about that?
The article, written by a woman from Longmont named Karen Antonacci, went on to describe PP for the readers.  According to Karen, as her friends call her, "Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization that relies on grants, donations, patient payments and insurance reimbursements to operate.  The health centers provide sex education and preventive care, such as cancer screenings and birth control."  Karen fails to mention the fact that PP is the country's number one supplier of premeditated murders of pre-born human beings.  I wonder why?
According to this website, PP claims that killing pre-born human beings only makes up 3% of its total business.  Imagine for a moment, if you will, the outrage at a company that willingly confessed that only 3% of its total revenue is derived from selling blacks into slavery in Africa or selling kidneys from Tibetan donors to wealthy Europeans in need of a kidney transplant.  I think we all know that the 3% figure would be deemed irrelevant and that the focus would be upon the horrific things the company is doing with no regard to how much money is made as a result.  (For the record, I believe people should be able to sell their kidneys on the free market if they wish to do so.  Also for the record, I oppose chattel slavery.)  So let's ignore the 3% argument for a moment and focus on the facts.
Is PP primarily a company that provides health services, in a highly discriminatory fashion by the way, to women exclusively?   The answer to that question is yes.  I wonder why they have not been fined by the federal regulators for discrimination?  Is PP the primary provider of abortions to immoral women who desire to execute their pre-born human beings?  The answer to that question is also yes.  Here are the facts:
  • The newspaper article touted the fact that women go to PP for Pap tests.  PP provides less than 1% of all Pap tests conducted in the SDA.
  • The newspaper article touted the fact that women go to PP for cancer screenings.  PP provides no mammogram services.  PP does provide physical exams for cancer.  1.8% of all physical exams for cancer are performed by PP.
  • The newspaper article ignored the fact that PP provides 35% of all abortions that take place in the SDA.  That comes to a whopping 300,000+ abortions per year.
Why would Karen be so reticent to write about what PP does best?  Why would Karen apparently attempt to hide the fact that PP specializes in killing babies?  Why is Karen not equally proud of PP's record on killing babies since she believes that an abortion is nothing more than a minor surgical procedure akin to liposuction?   Me thinks Karen has a guilty conscience.
Thanks to Obamacare it is more difficult for teenage girls and young women to conspire with a government approved hit-man to murder their pre-born human beings.  For that I am thankful.

We Are A Nation Of Sissies

The citizens of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika are, for the most part, a bunch of pansies, sissies, wimps, cowards, namby-pambys, milksops, weaklings and unmanly men.  I came to this conclusion over the weekend after I went to visit the grocery store.  My conclusion was further cemented in my mind after I read the Saturday edition of the Denver Post.  Let me tell you about that today.
My local grocery store is filled with Yuppies and other hard-charging types who love nothing more than to wear fit-bits and talk about their latest exercise program, all while picking through various green things in the produce section that they would like other Yuppies to believe they actually eat.  Near the front entrance of the store, like most businesses these days, is a section for handicapped parking.  There are ten spaces available for handicapped parking and it is a rare day indeed when each space is not filled by an expensive SUV.  How can it be that such health conscious people can be so handicapped, I wondered to myself?  To answer my question I simply watched the people getting in and out of the cars for a while.  What I learned will probably not surprise you at all.
None of the people getting in and out of the cars parking in the handicapped parking spaces were handicapped.  It is true that some of them were fat and some of them were almost as old as I am but none of them appeared to be in need of a special parking place near the front of the store.  As I wandered down the row of cars parked in the spaces I noticed that none of them had a handicapped license plate.  Instead, all of them had temporary handicapped placards suspended from the rear-view mirrors in their vehicles.  It was then I understood what was going on.  These folks have someone in their family, probably an infirmed parent, who has been able to obtain the government privilege of using handicapped parking spaces.  Along with that privilege comes the government approved placard that can be proudly displayed to announce the person's infirmity and his government given right to park close to the front of stores.  These extraordinarily lazy and extremely sissified people are using their elderly parents placards to grant themselves government privileges to which they are not entitled just to avoid having to walk an additional ten or twenty feet on their trips to the store to buy non-GMO foods, gluten free foods, quinoa and kale.  What a bunch of chumps.
I returned home from the store with my chocolate covered doughnut and sat down to read the paper.  My eye was drawn to a story entitled, "Hick Signs New Law Giving Vets College Credit."  Hick, for those of you who do not live in Colorado, is the governor of this lazy and corrupt state.  The story that followed amazed me.  In addition to all of the free things taxpayers like myself give to vets these days, they are now allowed to get college credit simply for being in the military.  The new law requires Colorado colleges and universities to give vets college credit for being in military service.  As justification for the new law the story said, "Many veterans either quit or did not apply for school because knowledge they acquired during service did not translate into college credits."  What!?  What a bunch of sissies!
I would like to be granted at least two honorary degrees by the University of Colorado in recognition of my life service to the community.  If vets can get college credits for three or four years of hanging out with their buddies in the military I should be entitled to an entire degree for forty years of janitorial services provided to the citizens of the Denver metro area.  Veterans just don't get it.  They have been pampered and pandered to for so long they believe they are not only entitled to have their college degrees paid for, they are also entitled to get college credit without having to take classes.  Everyone seems to be missing the point that college credits are to be granted for college classes, not life experience.  If college degrees are supposed to be granted for life experiences everyone alive would have a multitude of various degrees.  Only the sissified vets in this country could come up with a scam where they get free college credit for being on the taxpayer dole.
After finishing my doughnut, gagging on it as I read the story about free college credits for veterans,  I proceeded to read another story about how the schools in Colorado Springs have decided to abolish the practice of having a valedictorian.  Apparently the Spring's School District 11 voted 6-1 to abolish the practice of having a valedictorian deliver a commencement address.  Even having a person recognized as a valedictorian was considered to be too harsh and intolerant.  Justification for the decision was given by school board member Shawn Gullixon who declared, "I was a C student but may have aspired to perform better if my high school had used this system."  The "system" Shawn is referring to is the new one that eliminates the valedictorian and declares the top 1/3 of the graduating class to be geniuses.  What a bunch of sissies they all are.  Can you imagine a real man complaining like a little girl that he did not do well in school because the school did not recognize him as a genius each day of the year?  What a chump.
As I sat in my rocking chair watching the Rockies lose another game Saturday afternoon I thought about what I had learned that morning.  I came to the only conclusion that I could come to.  We have become a nation of sissies, dullards, fools, pawns, government shills and downright sissy fellows.  Lazy people have to park in handicapped spaces.  Ex-soldiers have to get free college credit for classes that they don't take or they won't go to college.  High school students don't try hard unless they can tell themselves they are the smartest people in their class.  What a joke it all is.  What a shame it all is.  It did not have to be this way.  Thank you progressives.  You have made real progress on this one.

LeBron's Lament

Did you hear the story about King James' receipt of a racial slur?  Whether you did or not, that is what I want to write about today.  Super-stardom is always acknowledged in people who are known by a single moniker.  Cher, Bono, Clint, Tiger, Lance (a sullied star), Llewellyn (an infamous Welsh comedian and potato farmer) and LeBron all immediately conjure up images of very popular public figures.  LeBron is also known as King James, according to his last name.  For the two or three of you who might not be aware, LeBron James is the best active player of basketball in this sports-crazy country.  Bron, as his friends call him, plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  He has won three NBA championships and four NBA Most Valuable Player awards during his career.  He also has been selected to thirteen NBA All-Star teams and he holds two Olympic Gold medals.  Bron helped his team defeat the Golden State Warriors to win last year's NBA championship and the two teams are scheduled to meet each other again in the NBA finals starting tonight.
Being the mega-star that he is, Bron maintains a home in Los Angeles so he can be near to his work with his production company and its partnership with Warner Brothers.  Something terrible happened at his LA home last night that has the world abuzz.  Let me tell you all about it.
According to the Associated Press, "LeBron James wanted to be with his family, to hug his wife and three kids back in Ohio.  Visibly shaken by an event he couldn't control, Cleveland's star struggled Wednesday to focus on his seventh straight NBA Finals or the Golden State Warriors.  For the game's best player, basketball was overshadowed by racism."  That ominous introduction to the racist attack suffered by Bron had me worried.  Had somebody physically attacked him?  Had someone broken some of his bones?  Did some racist pig take a pot-shot at him?  Had someone broken into his home with a gun or a bomb?  Just what horrible thing had happened to Bron to account for such a fear-filled response on his part?
The story went on to say precisely what happened.  "On the eve of the Cavaliers and Warriors meeting for the third straight year, police said James' mansion in Los Angeles was vandalized in the morning with a racial slur spray painted on the front gate....According to police, an unidentified person spay painted the N-word on the front gate of James' $20 million home in the Brentwood neighborhood Wednesday morning....neither James nor his family was in their secondary home at the time."  That's it?  You have got to be kidding!  Some drunk teenager gets a can of spray paint and splashes "Nigger" on the front gate of James' home and we all act as if he has been tortured and killed by some deranged racist.  What is wrong with this picture?
Bron's reaction to the non-event is absurdly and ridiculously over-hyped.  He said, "No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough.  We have a long way to go for us as a society and for us as African-Americans until we feel equal in America."  What!?  Did I miss something here?  Bron has hundreds of millions of dollars.  If he invests his money well he can easily become a billionaire.  Bron has tens of millions of fans.  He is adored all around the country and he will likely be canonized in both Cleveland and Akron (that is where he played high school ball) when he retires.  He has been slated for super-stardom from the moment he first took the court at his private high school gym.  Excepting the usual problems associated with being a human being (sickness, sinfulness, death of loved ones), Bron's life has been anything but "tough."
Bron is also anything but equal to the vast majority of the citizens of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  He is in the top 1% in income, net worth, physical skills and popularity.  Despite all of that he claims that he feels like an oppressed slave because some drunken teenager spray-painted the word 'Nigger' on his front gate.  Give me a break.  This sort of overreaction, by both Bron and the press, truly denigrates the real racism many black folks have experienced in their lives.  Indeed, it denigrates the racism experienced by all sorts of people in this country over the years.  Ask the Chinese working on the transcontinental railroad about tough conditions.  Ask the Japanese citizens imprisoned during WWII about tough conditions.  Ask the Irish who emigrated to this immoral country and faced extreme racism while just trying to make a living about tough living conditions.  Ask the Welsh who worked in the coal mines of West Virginia and Maryland about tough living conditions.  I know, my grandfather and father were two of them.  The hardship faced by my forefathers is infinitely more palpable than the allegedly tough living conditions associated with living in a future billionaire's mansion that has a spray-painted bad word on the front gate.  From what little I have seen I think Bron is a great guy.  I wish him the best.  But he needs to get a little perspective on life.  His suffering is no suffering at all.

Too Many Drug Commercials

Have you noticed how drug commercials have come to dominate the television airwaves?  Maybe it is only true for the Denver metro area but I suspect it is true nationwide since many of the stations I watch in Denver are cable channels available worldwide.  Drug companies have decided that it is in their best interest to by-pass the standard channel of doctors and pharmacists and advertise directly to the consumers.  I guess their expectation is that consumers will diagnose themselves of a particular illness and then go to their doctors and demand that particular drug as a treatment for that illness.  Or maybe they just want to inform the consumers that the drug is available and when their doctors diagnose them as having a particular disease they will be better informed as to the drug treatments that are available.  Either way, I have had enough of the nonstop barrage of drug commercials on television.
Now I am the first to believe in the free market and I am not going to call for any government legislation that would change the current state of affairs in this sick and over drugged land.  If drug companies want to spend their money on commercials that target the general population, good for them.  If those commercial dollars help keep the television shows I like to watch on the air then I am glad they are there.  But it seems to me that there is something wrong with a society that has so many prescription drugs available to treat so many alleged illnesses.  Is anybody not ill anymore?  Does everyone have some sort of illness?
According to National Public Radio, "Nearly half of all Americans over the age of 12 take prescription pain relievers, tranquilizers, sedatives or stimulants, according to a federal survey. And 16 percent of the time those drugs are misused by nearly 19 million Americans."  According to the Washington Post, "Nearly 3 in 5 American adults take a prescription drug, up markedly since 2000 because of much higher use of almost every type of medication, including antidepressants and treatments for high cholesterol and diabetes....researchers found that the prevalence of prescription drug use among people 20 and older had risen to 59 percent in 2012 from 51 percent just a dozen years earlier. During the same period, the percentage of people taking five or more prescription drugs nearly doubled, to 15 percent from 8 percent....Researchers noted that eight of the 10 most commonly used drugs in the United States are for hypertension, heart failure, diabetes and other elements of the 'cardiometabolic syndrome.'”  And according to the good people at the Mayo Clinic, "Prescription drug use has increased steadily in the U.S. for the past decade. The percentage of people who took at least one prescription drug in the past month increased from 44 percent in 1999-2000 to 48 percent in 2007-08. Spending on prescription drugs reached $250 billion in 2009, the year studied, and accounted for 12 percent of total personal health care expenditures. Drug-related spending is expected to continue to grow in the coming years, the researchers say."  I guess with all that money at stake the drug companies think it is a good risk to advertise to drug consumers directly.  Good for them.
Last Friday I decided to conduct a little survey of my own.  I watched a total of five hours of television on Friday.  Those five hours were broken down into 1 hour of CNBC, thirty minutes of Jeopardy on a local network and 3.5 hours of a Colorado Rockies game.  I kept a pad next to me while I watched these three shows and I recorded all of the drug commercials I witnessed in a scant five hours.  Here is a list of the drugs the pharmaceutical companies want me to purchase, in the order I saw them on the television:
  1. Cosentyx
  2. Repatha
  3. Tylenol
  4. Clear Eyes
  5. Chantix
  6. Cologuard
  7. Qunol
  8. Allegra-D
  9. Phillips Colon Health
  10. Cialis
  11. Eliquis
  12. Aleve
  13. Xyzal
  14. Viagra
  15. Dulcolax
  16. Kylenna
  17. Entresto
I don't even remember what half of these drugs are supposed to treat.  I do remember that several of them were to be taken to treat conditions created by taking some of the other drugs on the list.  I guess that is how so many people end up taking multiple pills every day.  It all seems crazy to me but it is true.
Complaining about something that bothers me isn't of any value, and I am not about to criticize the free market, but it seems to me that something decidedly unfree is taking place here.   I think it is quite possible that the government cartel known as the pharmaceutical/medical complex is playing us all for a bunch of fools.  It has always disturbed me that my broker gives me advice but my doctor issues me orders.  Why is it that doctors have authority to issue orders to their patients whereas brokers can only render advice to their clients?  Where does that authority come from?
I read an internet article written by another doctor a month or so ago in which he described how doctors and drug companies collude to sell billions of dollars in cholesterol drugs every year.  I don't know if what he wrote is true, anymore than I don't know if what my doctor tells me is true, but this was his argument.  According to this doctor cholesterol lowering drugs (which require the taking of Qunol to reverse the adverse effects of the anti-cholesterol drugs) are being falsely advertised as far as their effectiveness is concerned.  Apparently studies of large groups of people using cholesterol medication has discovered that those who take the drug over many years find that their risk of having a heart attack is reduced by one third.  Or that is what the drug companies claim.  According to this other doctor the fact is that out of a group of 100 people, three people will die of a heart attack if none of them take the cholesterol drug whereas in a group of 100 people who take the drug only two people will die of a heart attack.  The drug companies are technically correct when they say that the risk of suffering a heart attack is reduced by one third when taking the drug but seriously overstate the effectiveness of the drug when it is acknowledged that only 1% of the people taking it will avoid a heart attack.
I don't know who is correct in all of these arguments.  I haven't read all of the studies and even if I did I would likely not understand them.  All I know is that there are way too many drug commercials on the television and I would like to see them go away.  In their place I would love to see commercials for package travel deals to Wales.  The commercials could include lots of shots of Mt. Snowdon and the general Snowdonia area.  Now that would be nice.

Are Politics Polarizing Us?

An amazing thing happened last week, if you are a worshiper of civil government and the immoral men and women who populate it.  The current governor and four prior governors of Colorado met together to discuss the alleged problem of political polarization in the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  I would not have crossed the street to listen to those immoral and God-hating men, although I would have gladly crossed the street to avoid listening to them.  Nevertheless, I read a story in the newspaper that cited several of their comments on the topic of political polarization.
Former Governor Romer stated that he is "concerned about whether democracy is going to work.  We've got to find ways to bring people to the middle."  Former Governor Owens said, "I think the problem is us."  He then went on to explain how the voters have become extreme and unwilling to compromise in the political arena.  All five of these luminaries took essentially the same position. They blamed the voters for being too stupid to realize that they are the source of whatever perceived problems currently exist within the Amerikan political system.  I got the distinct impression that all five of these career politicians believe that we would all be better off if they were simply allowed to rule over us as they see fit, without regard to the wishes of the electorate.
There is a small amount of truth in what the governors said.  The voters in this country are amazingly stupid.  They also seek to use the political system to deprive their neighbors of their property, making all who do so nothing but thieves.  I don't believe anyone can disagree with the assertion that the political process in the SDA has become nothing but a war in which the majority is given the right to exploit the minority until the next election cycle rolls around.  What nobody is willing to admit however, is that the problem with the Amerikan political system is not the people who participate in it.  It is democracy itself.  We are not polarized because we are sinful human beings who use the political system to our advantage.  That is to be expected.  We are polarized because the political system permits, nay, encourages political warfare.  Let's think about this for a while today.
Democracy, as it is defined and practiced in the Amerikan Empire, consists of the rule of the majority of those who make the irrational and immoral decision to vote.  Anyone or any idea that attains majority status becomes sacrosanct and must be obeyed.   Under the terms of practical democracy there is no such thing as objective morality.  There is no standard of right or wrong and everything becomes a matter of personal utility and nothing more.  Quite obviously the opinion of the God of the Bible is rejected outright, as well as the opinions of those who follow and believe in the God of the Bible.  The most holy and sacred word in the land is derived strictly and exclusively from the will of the majority on any issue.  I believe the old expression went something like this.....vox populi, vox dei.
The opinion of the God of the Bible is a simple one when it comes to democracy.  He declares that it is immoral.  No country that wants the blessing of God upon it should ever adopt democracy as a form of government.  How ironic it is that so many stood at various functions around the country over the past weekend and invoked the blessings of God upon themselves by singing "God Bless Amerika" while, at the same time, they believe it is their inalienable right to ignore everything God says to them about how they should live.  How many thieves, adulterers and murderers (abortion is murder in case you have forgotten) asked the God of the Bible to bless them this past weekend?  Their judgment will be severe as God will not be mocked.
Others have observed the immoral nature of democracy.  Alexis de Toqueville is famous for his work on democracy in Amerika.   Here are a couple of quotes from that work you might find interesting:
  • “Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”
  • “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.”
  • “Society will develop a new kind of servitude which covers the surface of society with a network of complicated rules, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate. It does not tyrannise but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.”
  • “It is indeed difficult to imagine how men who have entirely renounced the habit of managing their own affairs could be successful in choosing those who ought to lead them. It is impossible to believe that a liberal, energetic, and wise government can ever emerge from the ballots of a nation of servants.”
  • “I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers – and it was not there . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests and it was not there . . . in her rich mines and her vast world commerce – and it was not there . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution – and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”
Alexis' comments are so archaic they bring a smile to our faces, don't they?  How could anyone be so naive as to believe that the God of the Bible exists and has an impact upon our lives?  How can anyone be so simple minded as to not understand that government is always good, and does what is best for us all the time?  How can anyone be so regressive as to state that Congress would dare to bribe the electorate with the public's money?  No, we have all moved far past the days of Alexis and embraced the god that has utterly failed.  What is its name?  It is called Democracy.  To make matters worse, Amerikans are now an evil people.  Since we have ceased to be good we shall also cease to be great.  That is our future.  Personally, I can't wait until the Empire comes to an end.  That will be a great day.

Soldier Worship Is Idolatry

Yesterday I held my nose and hoped to get through another Memorial Day unscathed.  I should have plugged my ears as well.  While watching the Rockies begin their inevitable and inexorable slide to the basement of the NL West with a loss to the lowly Mariners (I hate it when any NL team loses to the Sissy League of MLB), a commercial came on featuring Rockies pitcher Tyler Anderson.  He was there to promote the worship of the military of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  In the course of making his prepared comments he stated that "the Amerikan soldier is the most unappreciated person in the world."  I almost fell out of my chair.  What universe is Anderson living in?
A website known as Operation We Are Here is dedicated to "providing resources for the military community and military supporters."  Is there anyone who does not staunchly believe in supporting the military of the Amerikan Empire these days?  If there is anyone out there who thinks the same way I do then please leave a comment on this blog post just to prove me wrong.  As far as I am aware I am the only person in the universe who believes that the citizens of this immoral country idolize the military to the point of sinfulness.  My reasoning for rejecting soldier worship is simple.  No Amerikan war has ever been a just war.  I am willing to debate the premise that no war that the SDA military has participated in was just at any time.  Just let me know why you think any of the dozens of wars we have fought throughout the years were moral and the debate will be on.  Since no SDA war has ever been moral it necessarily follows that all foreigners killed by SDA soldiers have been murdered and all SDA soldiers are murderers.  To honor and defend the actions of murderers is crazy and sinful.  It is also what every "patriotic" citizen in this idolatrous land does every day.
Anderson's comment got me to thinking and the Operation We Are Here website provided the fodder for today's post.  I am not making this stuff up.  Just go to the website if you do not believe me.  Are Amerikan soldiers the most unappreciated people in the world as Anderson believes?  Or are they honored (worshiped) to the point of idolatry?  To help you decide I would ask you to consider the following national holidays found on the above website and currently observed in their honor:
  • March is the "Month of the Military Caregiver."  Writing about the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, "The Foundation’s programs provide military and veteran caregivers the support they need at the local, state, and national levels."  So now we need to not just support, whatever that means, soldiers but we have a moral obligation to support those who support soldiers.  I guess their glory is somehow passed down to those who support them and we are now required to recognize that fact. I wonder how many of my dollars are going to be extracted from me by various government entities to give them the support they desire?
  • March 13th is K-9 Veterans Day.  You got that right.  According to the website, "A national effort to make March 13 K9 Veterans Day. March 13, 1942 is the official birthday of the United States K9 Corps, and so it seems only right to annually honor their service on that date. They served to save, and they deserve to be remembered."  I remember a cat I once owned but I don't see why I should be required to remember military dogs in order to be a good citizen.
  • March 29th is Vietnam Veterans Day.  Apparently every conflict requires a memorial day these days.  This is especially true for the Vietnam War because it was the one war which most of the citizens of this country (at the time) rejected as immoral.  History needs to be rewritten to make the Vietnam War a just war and this day aids in that cause.
  • April is the "Month of the Military Child."  Greatness is inheritable and any children born to soldiers of the Amerikan Empire's military forces are to be venerated as well.
  • April 5th is Gold Star Wives Day.  According to another website, "Today, the nation recognizes the sacrifice that all Gold Star Family members make when a father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, or other loved one dies in service to the nation."
  • April 30th is proposed to become "National Military Brats Day."  The proposal before Congress states, "That Congress set aside a day each year as National Military Brats Day so Americans can say thank you to these patriots, young and grown, for their dedication and sacrifice in the service of their country."  I suspect everyone has heard the term "military brat."  Now we are expected to believe that all military brats are national heroes simply because of their genetic connection to an SDA soldier.
  • May is "National Military Appreciation Month."  What more do I need to say?
  • May 1st is "Loyalty Day."  Can you guess how "loyalty" is defined?  You got it right!  Loyalty is defined as support for the military of the Amerikan Empire.  I'm shocked.  On the first day of May all loyal citizens are expected to verbally confess their belief in the moral goodness of the Amerikan Empire and the soldiers who expand it.
  • May 1st is also "Silver Star Service Banner Day."  That is "a day set aside to honor our wounded, ill and dying military personnel by participating in flying a Silver Star Banner."  I didn't bother to find out what the Silver Star represents. You can check it out of you want to.
  • May 12th is "Military Spouse Appreciation Day."  I wonder if the husbands of women who are going to be drafted into military service in the future are included as objects of adoration and veneration on this day?
  • May 13th is "Children of Fallen Patriots Day."  This day is described as a "day to honor the families our Fallen Heroes have left behind – especially their children. It’s a reminder to the community that we have an obligation to support the families of our Fallen Patriots."  We have already established that military honor is inheritable so why not?  Now I have a moral obligation to give money to children of soldiers who died expanding the Empire.  How quaint.
  • May 20th is "Armed Forces Day."  It is described as "a day set aside to pay tribute to men and women who serve in the United States."  It is a good thing we have this day or most of the citizens of this country would probably forget that we even have a military, don't you think?
  • May 29th, of course, was "Memorial Day," the day we are all expected to visit a military graveyard and shed tears for those who have "defended our freedom" fighting in foreign wars.  How they actually defended our freedom is never explained.  Why any of us can actually be considered to be free in this land today was not described.
  • June 14th is "Flag Day."  Do I need any other argument in support of my assertion that the SDA flag represents the SDA military than this?  I don't think so.
  • June 27th is "National PTSD Awareness Day."  Here is a question no red-blooded patriot has ever answered for me.  If military service is such a glorious and honorable profession, why are so many ex-soldiers crazy?  Here is a follow up question.  Is it possible these crazy ex-soldiers know that what they did was wrong and that is why they feel so bad and want to kill themselves?  Just asking.  I don't know of any janitors, dentists or brokers who want to kill themselves because of their work.  Why should soldiers be so suicidal?
  • September 11th is "Patriots Day."  Anyone who does not believe that radical Muslims attacked the SDA because they hate our freedom have no right to speak on that day.  Furthermore, anyone who believes the Empire had it coming on 9/11 is told to leave the country and never come back.
  • September 24th is "Gold Star Mothers and Families Day."  This day is set aside to honor the families and mothers of Gold Star recipients.  Didn't we already have one of these days back on April 5th?  Oh well, there are not enough days in the year to honor the Amerikan soldier and his progeny.
  • October 8th is the day of the Ms. Veterans America Pageant.  I think this is my favorite day of all.  Taking a clue from the Miss Amerika Pageant the lovers of the military in this land have created a clone contest just for military wives.  Good for them.
  • October 26th is the "National Day of the Deployed."  It is set aside to, "honor all of the brave men and woman who have been deployed and are sacrificing, or have sacrificed, their lives to fight for our country and acknowledges their families that they are separated from."
  • November is "Military Family Month."  I guess military families have been ignored so far during the year.  I sure am glad someone finally thought about them.
  • November 11th is "Veterans Day."  I think we all know what this day is set aside for.  We are all expected to go find an ex-soldier and thank him/her for his/her service, whatever that means.
  • December 16th is "National Wreaths Across America Day."  Didn't we already do this ritual on Memorial Day?  I guess we need two days each year when patriotic Amerikans are expected to visit a military graveyard and honor the dead.
After considering the official list of government holidays related to the military I conclude that the Amerikan soldier is the single most honored person in the Socialist Democracy of Amerika and the Amerikan Empire.  I also conclude that the "honor' bestowed upon soldiers rises to the level of worship and actually constitutes idolatry.  In case you don't know, God does not appreciate idolatry or idolaters.

All You Need To Know About King Donnie

I was going to post a different article to my blog today when I saw a video clip of King Donnie on the news this morning.  I was shocked by what I saw.  Indeed, I was so shocked I can't get the image out of my mind.  If you saw the video clip you know what I mean.  If you didn't see the clip go here: http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/25/politics/trump-pushes-prime-minister-nato-summit/
People are desperately attempting to figure out who King Donnie is.  Democrats hate him with a passion yet still don't understand his character.  Republicans who voted for him blindly love him and project inaccurate character qualities upon him that he does not have.   I posted an article to this blog a couple of weeks ago attempting to explain that King Donnie is an extremely insecure man who behaves with the emotional constitution of a two year old and the intellectual capabilities of a government school educated high school graduate.  All of those things combine to make him a perfect Emperor of the world and King of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.
The video clip listed above shows our King at the NATO summit this week.  The 27 representatives of NATO attending the conference were making their way to a place where they were going to be photographed.  Somehow Donnie found himself near the back of the group as they were walking along.  That was not acceptable to him so just like a 2 year old he started shoving people out of the way to make his way to the front, where he believes he belongs.  The man shoved out of the way is the representative from Montenegro.  He appears unperturbed by the gross crassness displayed by the Emperor of the Amerikan Empire.  That is a wise way to behave.  If he rebuked King Donnie for his horrific behavior he might find his country being bombed next week.
Those of you who watched the panel discussions, called "debates" by the media, during the election process had to notice that Donnie behaved like a little child while fielding the various questions.  He rarely had anything of substance to say about his plans for the Empire but whenever someone said something negative about him he was utterly incapable of holding his tongue.  He showed then that he has no emotional self control whatsoever.  He would always respond with some sort of insult, just like a child would respond.
Our King has no philosophy of government.  He has no philosophy of economics.  He has no philosophy of foreign relations.  He has not thought through a philosophy about anything.  He flies entirely by the seat of his pants all the time.  Being driven entirely by his emotions he is prone to say and do things that often contradict other things he says and does, and that does not bother him in the slightest.  In other words, King Donnie is just like the great majority of the citizens of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.
King Donnie managed to get himself elected by vigorously repeating a series of jingoistic mantras that appealed to the general populace of this ignorant and immoral country.    "Build the wall, "drain the swamp" and "bring home the jobs" all played well to the people Hillary accurately called the "deplorables."  "Deplorable" is defined as deserving strong condemnation because something is shameful, dishonorable, disgraceful or unworthy.  That pretty much sums up the character qualifies of most of the citizens of this land.  Remember, over half of the married adults in this land have committed adultery.  Remember, a huge number of women in this country have had abortions, some multiple times. Remember, over half of the citizens of this land believe theft by majority vote is a good thing.  What better describes the citizens of this land than deplorable?
I conclude that King Donnie is the perfect representative of the deplorable people of this country and he is doing a fine job representing the SDA at NATO.  Well done Donnie!  Now go shove someone else around and make sure you are always at the front of the line where you belong.

Why Is Anything Our Business?

I heard a report on the radio the other day, while driving between jobs, that King Donnie had issued a statement about Syria's King claiming that he is a "bad man" who needs to be removed from office.  The report went on to say that the world will be unjust and spinning off its moral axis until someone, presumably the military forces of the Amerikan empire, removes Assad from power.
I just read a report that King Donnie issued sanctions against seven members of Venezuela's version of the Supreme Court of Jokers.  In doing so Donnie announced that they were bad men and that the world would not be properly aligned until the people of Venezuela throw off their current leadership and adopt democracy.  How not letting these seven Venezuelans purchase Campbells soup will help the Venezuelan people was not explained.
We have all been reading reports recently about how King Kim Jong Un is an evil man who is destabilizing the entire world.  His refusal to kowtow to the Amerikan Empire by continuing to fire various missiles into the ocean around his country has driven King Donnie to tell us all that he is a bad man who needs to be removed from power.  To date, as far as I am aware, King Donnie has not proposed that the military forces of the Amerikan Empire do the removing.  Maybe Greenpeace can do the job.  Isn't it their job to defend all those hapless fish that are being blow up?
King Donnie routinely tells various Chinese officials how they should run their country.  He accuses them of fighting illegal trade wars and devaluing their currency, thus bringing about the apparently undesirable effect of making Chinese imports cheap and affordable for citizens in the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.
The military forces of the SDA are currently involved in "peacekeeping" operations in Morocco, Liberia, Sudan, Republic of the Congo, Mali, Central African Republic, Haiti, India, Pakistan, Cyprus and Kosovo.  I wonder how many citizens of those foreign countries have died as a direct result of SDA peacekeeping?  Ultimately it does not really matter.  They are just stinkin' foreigners.
I have a very simple question for you today.  Why are any of the above situations any of the business of the SDA?  There was a principle that I learned as a child that has served me well throughout my entire life.  It was called "mind your own business" and it is simple enough to understand and apply.  Anytime something comes up in my life I ask if what is taking place is any of my business.  If it is not I have no opinion on what is taking place and I ignore it.  How can life be any simpler or easier than that?
Most people spend most of their lives gossiping about and involving themselves in the business of others.  I understand that fact is integral to human nature and accept it as a fact of life in a sinful world.  It therefore does not surprise me when we move from individuals to groups of people the same thing happens.  Groups spend most of their time minding the business of other groups.  That too is a part of sinful human nature.
When we come to civil government things are no different.  Governments are always meddling in the affairs of other governments.  Little things called wars have been a common pattern of behavior throughout human history.  Making matters worse for all the citizens of the world is what happens when the most powerful empire of the time decides to interject itself into the affairs of sovereign countries all over the world.  The SDA is the biggest and baddest empire the world has ever known.  The SDA military can do what it wants, when it wants, to almost whomever it wants at any time.  Only that handful of countries that have nuclear weapons and don't like us are exempt from the harassment coming from the hands of the SDA military and political establishment.
Does anyone have an answer to my question?  Can anyone give me a moral reason why the rulers of this empire should involve themselves in the affairs of other nations?  One other principle my mama taught me is that it is always wrong to do something in a group if that thing is wrong to do as an individual.  She instructed me well and kept me from adopting the evil philosophy of socialism as I grew up.  I knew right from the start that it is wrong to steal from my neighbor to pay my bills so it was not hard for me to understand that I can't vote away my neighbor's property to pay my bills either.  I also understood that what happened in my neighbor's house was none of my business.  It was therefore easy for me to understand that what happens in North Korea, Liberia, Sudan, Mexico, Syria, Russia or China is none of my business as well.  Why does something that is none of my business as an individual suddenly become my business simply because I am a member of a group called the "citizens of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika?"  Some day I would love to have someone answer these questions for me.

Profit Seeking Businesses Are Irrelevant

A rather significant thunderstorm, with accompanying hail stones, ravaged parts of the western Denver metropolitan area last week.  I was at home at the time and watched things develop.  The storm was weak as it passed over my home, barely wetting the sidewalk as it went by, but it quickly developed into a powerful storm.  By the time it got to the Golden area it was dropping hail stones as large as baseballs.  Several people I know were in the area when the storm hit and their cars are destroyed.  Many homes suffered serious damage as well.  I was not surprised when I read that the Colorado Mills Shopping Mall had been shut down for a couple of days as repairs were made to skylights that had been broken and flooding mitigation took place.  However, I was surprised by what I read in my Denver Post this morning.
The damage was so extensive at the Colorado Mills that the owners of the mall have announced that it will be closed for several months.  They hope to be able to open the mall for business again sometime this fall.  Clearly the damage to the mall was much worse than I had originally assumed.  The article I read went on to describe the people who are going to be hurt by the closure of the mall.  I too had thought about the problems that would come up for the business owners operating in the mall.  Being forcibly shut down throughout the busy summer months could possibly drive some of them into bankruptcy as well as create significant financial hardship for others.  What a shame, I thought to my self.  Sadly, the author of the story in the paper had a different view of the disaster.
After describing what had happened and explaining that the mall would be closed for a protracted period of time the author of the article went on to define who the victims of that nasty thunderstorm were.  Who do you believe would be listed as the first victim?  Who do you think would be considered to be the primary victim?  Did you assume, as I did, that the business owners operating in the mall would be those given the most sympathy as they suffer through a difficult time?  The answer to the question of who the primary victim is might surprise you.  Then again the answer might be exactly what you thought as well.
The first victim listed of the thunderstorm-induced closing of the Colorado Mills mall was the City of Lakewood.  You got that right!  Civil government was the primary victim of the closure of the mall.  Why, you might ask?  Because the mall produces $350,000/month in sales tax revenue for the city.  So as the profit seeking businessmen and businesswomen who run retail businesses in the mall struggle to stay afloat the main thing the socialistic citizens of Lakewood are concerned about is the reduced revenue to the City of Lakewood.  They are worrying and fretting over which city services might have to be curtailed as they are now looking at an even worse budget shortfall than usual.  All they can think about is how those citizens who are on the City of Lakewood dole are going to survive now that their golden goose has been laid up.
The second victim of the closure of the mall, according to the article, are the people who had been employed by the profit seeking businesses operating there.  Just like the good socialists they are, the folks who are appraising the damage ignore the true victims (the business owners) and emphasize the noble laborer who now finds himself momentarily out of a job.  Now I don't deny that losing your retail job for a couple of months can be a hardship for some families, especially those already on a tight budget.  But the belief that the employees suffer more from the closure of a business than the business itself does is ludicrous and indicative of an extreme anti-capitalist mentality.  Why am I not surprised?  An unemployed retail clerk can look for work elsewhere.  The business owner in Colorado Mills does not have that option.  He will necessarily suffer serious financial losses.
The true victims of the storm were unmentioned in the newspaper report.  It was as if they don't even exist.  The profit seeking businesses are what produce the tax revenue the city is so dependent upon.  The profit seeking businesses are what produce the jobs that are momentarily lost.  The profit seeking businesses are the source of everything that happens at Colorado Mills mall.  Yet when the mall is forced to close the businesses operating there remain unseen and the victims of the closure are the usual list of socialist victims, namely, city governments and employees.  What an immoral country we live in today.

Pay Attention To What People Do

You have probably heard the old expression that one should pay attention to what people do and not to what they say.  That is a good maxim if we are to understand human behavior.  Human beings say lots of things that mean absolutely nothing.  In fact, the only thing that really matters is what we do.  The disconnect between what we say and what we do exists for a reason.  People want to project a public image of being one way while, at the same time, they want to behave in a way that is contrary to that public image but consistent with their true beliefs.  That type of behavior has historically been called hypocrisy and it dominates human behavior.  Rare indeed is the person who will do what he says he will do.
McDonalds is a case in point.  Almost everyone I know likes to bad-mouth McDonalds.  They love to tell me that McDonalds produces junk food and they don't eat junk.  They love to tell me that they stay away from saturated fats and eat only foods generally deemed by the Welsh as fit only for rabbits and small birds.  I once had a young girl lecture me on why I should not eat at McDonalds. She told me the story she had learned at government school about how one person ate only at McDonalds for a year and became horrendously fat as a result of doing so.  When I asked her if she had heard the other story about how another man ate only at McDonalds for a full year and ended up losing weight and she called me a liar.  She is well on her way to ignorance and worship of the Beast.
I go to McDonalds a lot and one thing I can tell you for sure is I am not the only one patronizing the store.  I can go there anytime of the day or night and the drive-thru line will be backed up all the way around the building.  If I go inside I will have to stand in line prior to being served.  So what is my point?  My point is that people bow to peer pressure and claim to be one way while, at the same time, behave in the opposite fashion.  It is fashionable to say bad things about McDonalds but when in the privacy of their own cars the people who profess to hate McDonalds will be seen ordering a Quarter Pounder in the drive-thru lane later that day.
Bruce Jenner is a gender-fluid person who was born a man and now claims to be a woman.  He rose to fame initially as a gold medalist in the decathlon.  Later on he decided he liked wearing women's clothing so he changed his name to Caitlyn and became a woman.  Good for him/her/it.
I consider Bruce, as his friends like to call him, to be a pervert.  I believe Bruce will burn forever in the Lake of Fire if he does not repent of his sexual perversion.  I am in a distinct minority when I say that transgenderism is a perversion that will be judged by God and should be judged by the law of the land.  The vast majority of the citizens within the Socialist Democracy of Amerika profess to believe that transgenderism is just dandy and people like me are Neanderthals who need to be silenced of our hate speech.  I have often wondered if most people really believe what they say.  Now I have evidence that, on this issue at least, they predictably do not.
Here is part of a story I read in the newspaper late last week, "A year after Caitlyn Jenner announced her new name and gender, the popularity of the name Caitlyn plummeted more than any other baby name, according to Social Security's annual list of the most popular baby names.  In fact, the four names that dropped the most were all variations of the same name....all four versions of Caitlyn fell out of the top 1,000."  So here is my question.  If most folks believe Bruce is a heroic figure and a role model for society, why do the great majority of Amerikans make the voluntary decision to not name their children after his gender-fluid moniker?
I will answer my own question.  Most citizens of this country are intrigued by Bruce like they are intrigued by side show freaks at carnivals.  Most folks also believe what they are told by the popular media so when queried about their personal thoughts about Bruce they declare him to be a hero.  But when they are in the privacy of their own homes and choosing a name for their child the last thing they are going to do is name her after a sexual pervert.  That tells me all I need to know. When it comes to acceptance for gender-fluidity I have a lot of people on my side, regardless of what they say.

Airheads Discuss Public Policy

Did you see the story about the alleged gaffe committed by the new Miss Amerika?  Her name is Kara McCullough and she was representing Washington DC when she was crowned last Sunday night as the new Miss Socialist Democracy of Amerika person.  She works for the federal government in DC, thus making her a perfect Miss Amerika.  I wonder if the pageant is even on television anymore?  In the old days the Miss Amerika pageant was "must watch TV."  These days it is a total bore and I don't know of anyone who cares in the least what happens.  I can't recall the last time I saw any of it.  Nevertheless, Kara "ignited a firestorm," according to CNBC, with a comment she made during the inane interview portion of the show.
The interview portion of the show is where the whittled down list of potential winners are asked a question designed to allow them to say they would like to bring about world peace during their term as Queen.  According to the report on CNBC, "McCullough, 25, referenced that fact (the fact that she has a government job, ed) in her instantly controversial answer after being asked during the pageant's question phase about whether or not people have a right to affordable health care."  Kara's response to the question about whether Obamacare/Repubcare is a civil right was, "I'm definitely going to say it's a privilege.  As a government employee, I'm granted health care and I see firsthand that for one to have health care you need to have jobs. We need to continue to cultivate this environment that we're given the opportunity to have health care as well as jobs to all American citizens worldwide."  Well there you have it.  The woman chosen as the perfect representative of the Amerikan woman has outraged the socialists by declaring that socialized medicine is not a civil right.  Good for her.
Unfortunately for her, she  answered the question with an equally socialistic response.  The question asked by the host, who I have no idea who it was, was clearly designed to make a political statement about how socialized health insurance is a civil right.  I refer to the host as an "it" only because I don't know if it was a he, she or a gender-fluid.  Apparently the other candidates who were interviewed marched in lockstep with Bernie Sanders and proudly announced that health insurance should be socialized.  A hush fell over the house when Kara took a different position and the response to her answer on Twitter was immediate.  Here are some of the comments:
  • Huge fan of being a black woman and a scientist and advocate for science education, but dang she could use a class on social issues.
  •  Do not take your political advice from this . Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
  •  DC just lost my vote. Healthcare shouldn't be a privilege for only people with jobs.
  •  So A non-feminist who also thinks Healthcare is a privilege is now supposed 2 be a role model to lil girls?
  •  Then she doesn't deserve to be 'Miss USA'. Healthcare is an obligation and should be the RIGHT of EVERY American, not just the wealthy.
Kara stirred the socialized health insurance hornet's nest and immediately got stung.  She dared to believe that I should not be responsible to pay for your health insurance bill simply because I make more money than you do.  Unfortunately for Kara (and this was completely missed by all the air-heads who commented on Twitter), she took an even more socialistic position than Obamacare/Repubcare in her response to the question.  Did you catch it?  Yes, she declared that socialized health insurance is not a civil right and that health insurance should be connected to having a job.  Uhmmm....I wonder what would happen to people like me who have never had a job?  I have been self-employed my entire adult life.  I guess I don't count.  But look at what Kara said about jobs.  She said, "We need to continue to cultivate this environment that we're given the opportunity to have health care as well as jobs to all American citizens worldwide."  Let's consider her comment, despite its awkward construction,  for a moment.
Besides the fact that people who do not work for someone else, Kara's definition of a job, are left out in the cold in this discussion, Kara believes that "we," whoever that is, have a moral responsibility to "cultivate" an "environment" to create "jobs" for "all Amerikan citizens worldwide."  Now that is a grandiose socialistic dream, wouldn't you say?  If you are an Amerikan living anywhere in the world it is the responsibility of the federal government of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika to create a job for you.  Then, once your job is created, you too can have health insurance.  Only a by-product of the government school system and a career government employee could have come up with the answer Kara gave.  The air-heads on Twitter should have been praising her for her response since she goes much further than Obama ever did and embraces the full-blown socialism of Bernie and Liz.  She wants the government to create jobs for all of us.
Lost in the discussion about health insurance is the fact that health insurance became connected to employment many years ago when one particular Congress decided to punish profit seeking businesses for allegedly paying their CEOs too much money.  Congress actually passed a law capping cash salaries to corporate CEOs.  Corporations responded by loading up employment contracts with dozens of fringe benefits and at the top of the list was Cadillac health insurance plans.  Were it not for government interference in the free market so many years ago health insurance would not be connected to employment at all.  Thank you government for making a problem that you created even worse.  I can't wait to see how you will mess things up even worse in the future.
Think about the absurdity of connecting health insurance to employment.  I realize it has been that way for so long most people are incapable of conceiving of anything different but it is truly a stupid idea.  Why should my health insurance be paid for by my employer?  If my employer is expected to pay for my health insurance then why isn't he also expected to pay my homeowners insurance, my auto insurance, my life insurance, my disability insurance and my personal liability insurance?  I also think my employer should be on the hook for my boat insurance, my RV insurance and my motorcycle insurance as well.  And while we are on the topic of insurance, why should there be no insurance policy covering the risk of having to purchase a new car at some point in the future?  A new car is a huge expense and we all need to buy a car at some point in our lives.  I need a car to get to my job.  No red-blooded Amerikan should be forced to go without a car.  Having a car is a civil right and insurance makes them affordable for all citizens of the SDA.  I believe we need new car purchase insurance policies and I believe employers should be required to pay for them.   If private insurers are unwilling to provide these policies then the federal government should step up and create them for us.  Just think "crop insurance" or "flood insurance" here and you will see how it can work.  It is time for all of us to let our rulers know that we will not be oppressed any longer.  We demand universal car purchase insurance!  Are you with me?

WannaCry?

By now everyone in the civilized world has heard about the WannaCry bug that has caused havoc with computer systems all around the world.  Not being a member of the civilized world (I don't use a cell phone and I have no idea how to send a text) I was the last to hear about this computer virus.  From what I have read WannaCry is something called ransomware.  Ransomware, as I learned in the last couple of days, is a malicious computer program that is used to take over the operation of another person's computer.  WannaCry apparently locks down all the files in a computer and then the people who have taken over the computer demand a cash payment to open the files and release the computer.  It is just like a kidnapping only it does not involve humans.  I marveled at how creative the entire process is.  I am amazed at the abilities shown by this group of people known as hackers and cyber-terrorists.  But, as Maxwell Smart used to say, "if only they had used their powers for niceness instead of evil."
The news reports that I have read describe how the WannaCry virus exploits a weakness in Microsoft Windows to gain access to computers using that operating system.  Microsoft was aware of the problem back in March of this year and issued something called a "patch" that fixed the problem so that the virus cannot take over a computer of someone after the patch has been installed.  I checked to see if my computer had been updated and it had.  Have no fear, the Mad Welshman will continue to post drivel to this website despite the best efforts of WannaCry to silence my voice for freedom, common sense and biblical truth.
I also read several news reports about how this whole thing started.  Strangely, nobody is pushing what I consider to be the most important part of the entire story.  Do you know who first discovered the flaw in the Microsoft software?  It was none other than the heroic folks working at the National Security Agency of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  They discovered the flaw that created the potential for someone to create a virus like WannaCry and were using it for their own purposes until something happened they did not expect.  Someone hacked them and stole their information.  It was only after they were hacked that they notified Microsoft about the problem.  Whoever stole the information from them is now using it to terrorize computer systems and the people who operate them around the world.  Thanks NSA!
Edward Snowden, a truly heroic figure who is fighting around the clock to protect and inform the couple dozen or so lovers of freedom remaining in this land, issued a statement about what the NSA has done.  Here is what he said, "They knew about this flaw in U.S. software, U.S. infrastructure, hospitals around the world, these auto plants and so on and so forth, but they did not report it to Microsoft until after the NSA learned that that flaw had been stolen by some outside group."  A news agency reporting Snowden's words noted, "The U.S. National Security Agency could have headed off the global ransomware attack that has crippled hospitals, train stations and other infrastructure around the world..."
How about that!  The NSA, created to protect us from terrorist attacks, enabled a group of cyber-terrorists to attack us by allowing them to steal information they were either using or planned on using to spy on us.  What cosmic justice is on display here.  The end result of our anointed protector's action is that people all over the world are now being attacked by the creators of WannaCry.  Now I wonder....why would the NSA be looking for vulnerabilities in Microsoft operating systems in the first place?  Then, after finding a serious problem, why would the NSA refuse to tell Microsoft that they discovered a vulnerability in Windows?  Indeed, why would the NSA wait until it was too late to stop the people behind WannaCry before taking action to protect us?  The whole thing kind of makes me wonder who the NSA is really working for.  Oh yeah, I remember, the NSA exists to protect and empower the political class in this immoral country by spying upon citizens like you and me.  I keep forgetting that little fact.

Reporter Gets What He Deserves

Samantha Schmidt of the Washington Post reported a story yesterday about an incident in the Capitol building of West Virginia.  Here is some of what she wrote, "As Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price walked through a hallway Tuesday in the West Virginia Capitol, veteran reporter Dan Heyman followed along side him, holding up his phone to Price while attempting to ask him a question.  Heyman...repeatedly asked the secretary whether domestic violence would be considered a pre-existing condition under the Republican bill to overhaul the nation's health care system....'He didn't say anything so I persisted,' said Heyman.  Then, an officer in the Capitol pulled him aside, handcuffed him and arrested him.  Heyman was charged  with 'willful disruption of state government processes' and was released on $5,000 bail....Heyman insists he was simply fulfilling his role as a journalist and feels that his arrest sets a 'terrible example' for members of the press seeking answers to questions."  There is so much wrong in this report I have to write about it today.
First of all, is "domestic violence" considered to be a "pre-existing condition" under Obamacare?  I have never heard of that provision before.  In search of an answer I googled the above question.  Here is what I found on CNN's website:  "Jody Neal-Post has been reading about the health care law debate with worry these days. She's worried about how the new health care law won't carry protections for all people with pre-existing conditions. She is relatively healthy, but before Obamacare, she had a hard time getting insurance because of what some companies considered a pre-existing condition: She is a domestic violence survivor."  Well there it is! When some guy beats his ho the ho has a right to my money for some reason that I do not understand.  Praise Obamacare!
Second of all, there is no such thing as a "health care system" in the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  All that exists in this immoral land is socialized medicine in which the state has decided to take money from productive members of society like myself and give it to non-productive members of society to use to pay their health insurance bills.  I will pay $14,800 this year for health insurance.  Health insurance is my second biggest fixed expense and I an estimating that in 2018 it will become my biggest fixed expense.  The average family of four will pay $14,370 in health insurance premiums this year.  That is roughly 20% of the average income for a family of four.  Career politicians and recipients of subsidies consider this to be a good state of affairs.  Those who make the average income for a family of four make too much money for Obamacare subsidies so they end up paying the bills for those who make less.   Reporter Heyman wanted to make sure this process of fleecing the middle class will continue under the Republican socialized medical plan so he badgered Price with his question, hoping to get some sort of reaction from him.
Reporters, for the most part, are obnoxious jerks.  The report stated that he was "attempting to ask him a question" when, in fact, he was quite successful at asking Price the same question multiple times.  The issue is not whether reporter Heyman had the right to ask Price a question.  The issue is when Heyman's questioning progressed from questioning to badgering.  In my experience most reporters are experts at badgering.  When a person refuses to answer a question the first time it is asked the reporter should accept that and walk away.  They never do.  Instead, they ask the same question over again, a little bit louder.  When they still get no answer they escalate things even more.
Heyman was arrested for "willful disruption of state government processes."  That is a lovely charge.  As citizens of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika we should all be aware that career politicians are gods and we are not to disturb them.  The only time we should address one of our deities is when they have first addressed us.  Otherwise we are willfully disrupting their divine activities.  Those who do so will be arrested.
I learned several lessons from this story.  I learned that career politicians are gods.  I learned that cops, despite their mantra about "serving and protecting" the citizens of this country, really protect career politicians.  I learned that reporters are obnoxious jerks. That was not a surprise.  And I learned that the best thing for the citizens of this immoral country to do is keep our heads down, our mouths shut and hope that the powers that be leave us alone.  Hopefully the Empire will soon come crashing down and we can begin again, the next time as free men and women.
