The Government Claims Ownership Of Your Kids

Yesterday I wrote about the sad and depressing tale of the Maryland couple who are being harassed by the local police department.  If you did not read the post it was about the parents who had their two children, ages 6 and 10, abducted from a local playground by the jack-booted thugs who prowl around that area in patrol cars paid for with taxpayer dollars.  After the abduction they held them for 5.5 hours, only notifying the parents of their abduction well after they had become involved in a frantic search for their children.  Their children were released late that night after a ransom was paid to the local police department.  For more information read yesterday's post.
The idea behind the rules that exist in Maryland which criminalize allowing your children to play in a taxpayer financed park is that all children belong to the government.  Under that presupposition parents operate exclusively as surrogates for the state.  The state creates the rules and regulations under which the surrogate parents are ordered to operate.  If the parents do not conform to the rules as they are written and interpreted by those who enforce them, the children are removed from the first set of parents and given to another set that show a greater degree of compliance to the state's rules.  The bottom line is that all children belong to the government.
Earlier this week I posted an article about the home opener of the Colorado Rockies baseball team.  It was a very sad day as I was subjected to one form of state worship after another.  I could not, and still can't, understand what baseball has to do with government.  (As a side note, I was watching a PGA golf tournament last night when I noticed that the flag on the 18th green had been replaced with the flag of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika. Standing near the green was an armed enforcer of the imperial state.  After each player finished his round he was expected to go over to the armed enforcer, shake his hand and thank him for his service.  Pity the poor fool that did not comply.  He probably would have been shot down, as an enemy combatant of course, before he reached the clubhouse.)  The Denver Post carried a story about the Rockie's home opener that featured a photograph of a man and his son attending the game.  The caption noted that the child was skipping school to be at the game.  That is when a Colorado version of the Maryland story took place.
Patricia Freeburg, of Denver, wrote a letter to the editor of the newspaper the following day.  Her letter is short and gets to the point.  I quote it here in its entirety, "I feel that a bad message was portrayed when you featured a photo of a 9-year old skipping school to go to last Friday's Rockies game. School is more important than athletics. William, I am sure you are a good student, but don't let anyone entice you to miss another day of school, not even your father."  Let's consider Patricia's views for a moment, shall we?
It is important to note that Patricia, I will call her Pat as I suspect her friends all do, does not think.  All she does is "feel."  Why anyone besides her immediate family and her therapist should care about how she feels is not described.  I certainly do not care how Pat feels.  I am far more interested in what Pat thinks than what she feels but she is unwilling to share her thoughts with me so I have to deal with her feelings instead.  That is too bad but I am certainly not going to try and control Pat's behavior.  She is free to do and say what she wants.
Pat is a busy-body who loves to mind the business of others. What business of her's is it that William cut school, with his dad's permission, to go to a Rockies game?  She does not present any reason why she should be a part of that family discussion.  She simply interjects herself into the situation as if she belongs there and begins to issue authoritative pronouncements about how other families should manage their affairs.  I have a short word of exhortation for Pat, mind your own business!
Pat's assertion that school is more important than athletics is not given with any supporting argumentation.   I bet you Tiger Woods or LeBron James would disagree with her.  Even worse, Pat does not define what she means by school.  If by school she means government school, and I think she does, then I believe I can make a logically necessary and definitive argument that it is the least important thing in life.  Going to a taxpayer constructed prison for eight hours a day to be indoctrinated in the glories of the militaristic imperial state is not my idea of a valuable activity.  In fact, I believe shoveling horse manure out of a stable is infinitely more valuable and important than an entire year spent in the government school.  But that is just me.  Let's get back to Pat's feelings on the matter.
Pat's final exhortation to the child, named William, to ignore his father's authority and obey the dictates of the state is a perfect example of what I am writing about today.  In Pat's mind it is incomprehensible that a parent could have authority over his child. In Pat's mind all authority is vested in the government.  The government says you must attend government school every day so the parent must make sure the child attends government school every day or he is a terrible sinner and worthy of punishment.  The direct appeal to William, over the objections of his father, is typical of those who worship government.  Pat believes that William's education is her business simply because she worships the government and knows that the law requires everyone else to follow in lockstep with her.  When anarchists like William's father revolt against the system  and take their sons to baseball games during school hours an example must be made of them.
Pat has no business nor any authority to address William.  William is under his father's authority, not her's and not the government's. Pat should be arrested and incarcerated for violating parental authority and contributing to the delinquency of a minor by encouraging direct rebellion against parental authority.  This is serious business and we need to make an example out of Pat so that this will never happen again.  And that is just how I feel.

Speaking of my feelings....I am so depressed after all of the stuff I have posted this week I need some time off.  See you in a week.

Maryland Cops Kidnap Two Children

Danielle and Alexander Meitiv are parents.  They have two children, ages 6 and 10.  Unlike so many parents who are paralyzed by their belief in statist propaganda designed to convince all citizens within the Socialist Democracy of Amerika that it is unsafe to simply walk down a street in this land without police protection from "bad guys," they believe that their neighborhood is generally safe.  They also believe that it is the job of parents to give their children increasing amounts of responsibility.  Imagine that!  There are still people in this country who do not want to make their children dependent upon them.  I know that is hard to believe but it is true.
The Meitivs were in the news at the end of last year.  Maybe you remember the story.  Their two children had walked from their home to a nearby park to play.  While playing in the park some busy-body, state worshiping, do-gooder citizen called the cops to report the horrific crime of unsupervised children playing in a park.  The cops, being the brave and noble souls that they are, rushed to the scene.  They ended up picking up the two children as they were walking home, minding their own business and not being assaulted by pedophiles and pornographers as they walked along.
According to this report, "It all began in December when police stopped the kids as they were walking home from a park without an adult, and gave them a stern warning. Child Protective Services then accused the Meitivs of neglect, saying unless they committed to a safety plan, the kids would have to go into foster homes. No criminal charges were filed and a Maryland State Department of Human Resources spokeswoman would only say at the time that the case would serve as 'a point of reference that will be used in any future decision.'"  Sadly, that "point of reference" has come up again.
According to the same report, "Officers responded to a report of children without an adult at a park Sunday afternoon (April 12th, ed), according to The Associated Press, and took the 10-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl to Maryland Child Protective Services.  The children have since been released to their parents, Danielle and Alexander Meitiv, Montgomery County police told ABC News today. Danielle Meitiv did not immediately respond today to an ABC News request for comment, but she posted on Facebook  Sunday night she and her husband were allowed to bring their kids home after signing a 'safety plan.'  No charges were filed but the incident is being investigated, the AP reported."
Four months after being threatened to have their children forcibly removed from them and given to other families who believe in worshiping government, the Meitivs are back in the same position there were in before.  This time, however, there is more to the story.  This time the brave men in blue who picked up the kids decided to send a message to the freedom-loving parents they despise so much.  This time the cops committed the criminal act of kidnapping.  I am not expecting them to be charged.
Here is what happened, "Danielle Meitiv posted on Facebook this morning that the 'police coerced our children into the back of a patrol car, telling them they would drive them home. They kept the kids trapped there for three hours, without notifying us, before dropping them at the Crisis Center, and holding them there without dinner for another two and a half hours.  We finally got home at 11 pm and the kids slept in our room because we were all exhausted and terrified,' she wrote."  Get the picture?  Two kids who are in no danger of any sort are walking along, minding their own business, when two cops with an agenda force them into their car and take them off to a secluded police station where their parents will never find them.  Although the cops were fully aware that the children were expected home, they kept them there against their will for a full three hours.  Although the cops were fully aware that the parents were frantically searching for their two lost children, they made no effort to contact the parents and inform them of what they had done.  Had they not been held by their state-sponsored kidnappers the children would have arrived home in fine shape.  The only danger to those two kids last Sunday afternoon came from the cops who kidnapped them.
It seems pretty clear that the cops were punishing the Meitivs for their noncompliance with the rules.  Cops are there to enforce the rules and they become enraged when people like parents circumvent those rules.  Cops are there to "protect the children" and they become enraged when parents tell them to mind their own business.  Cops are there to get their way and when they do not get it they break the law and call it serving the public.  Being the good kidnappers that they are, after kidnapping the two kids the cops held them for ransom.  They demanded that the parents sign some stupid and ridiculous piece of paper promising to give up their parental authority over their children and obey the government in the future.  Only after the ransom was paid were the children released.  Please help me to understand.  Why is that not kidnapping?
Those two cops should be arrested and charged with kidnapping. The people at the "Crisis Center" who aided and abetted the criminal act of kidnapping by inventing a crisis that did not exist should be arrested as accomplices.  Everyone associated with the legal criminal action that took place against the Meitivs should serve prison time, and lots of it.  In addition, the Meitivs should receive a generous cash settlement.  I think something around 10 million dollars would be fair.  Make the taxpayers cough up the cash to pay for the crimes of their beloved police force.  Maybe then the taxpayers will wake up and realize that their police force is nothing more than a bunch of thugs and criminals.

Fingerprint File

I was driving along the other day listening to a CD by the Rolling Stones.  It was the 1974 release entitled "It's Only Rock and Roll" and it has one of my favorite Stones songs on it.  The song is called Fingerprint File and it is about Mick's state of depression brought about by statism.  Mick keeps repeating the phrase in which he declares, "it brings me down," only stretching out the dooowwwnnnn for a while.   Conjure up your best Mick imitation and you can approximate it.  And why is Mick so down?  Because "there is some little girl in the FBI, keeping papers on me, six feet high, it brings me down."
Toward the end of the song Mick slips into a little rapping.  He pretends to be talking to a lady on the telephone and he informs here that, "these days it all secrecy and no privacy."  As  you might expect that brings him down as well.  As I was bopping along listening to the song, it has a very catchy tune in my estimation, I began to fixate upon the phrase "all secrecy and no privacy."  That got me to thinking.  What exactly does it mean to live in a world in which it is all secrecy and no privacy?
The point of the song is that the advent of government surveillance of its own citizens has brought about a state of affairs in which citizens have no privacy.  On the other hand, the state operates under an impenetrable veil of secrecy.  Nothing the state does can be seen by the citizens living in the land.  The Stones performed that song in 1974, long before 9/11 and the advent of Homeland Security.  Conditions today are inestimably worse than they were when Mick found himself so depressed.  As Edward Snowden has shown us, the all powerful spying apparatus of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika knows just about everything there is to know about each and every one of us.
How bad has it become?  The state knows your employment history.  The state knows your medical history.  The state knows your educational history. The state knows and has a record of every electronic message you have ever sent. The state knows and has a record of every telephone conversation you have ever made.  The state knows where you are and can construct a detailed summary of your daily movements for any day of the year.  The state knows how much money you make and how you spend your money.  The state probably has a better record of your spending habits than you do.  The state knows when you are driving your car, when you are talking on the phone and when you are working at your computer.  The state knows what your political beliefs are.  The state knows what your religious beliefs are.  The state has a dossier on your views and opinions about itself.  Depending upon your beliefs and opinions about the state you will find yourself on a variety of different lists, all of which contain the names of people who are deemed to be enemies of the state in one form or another.
On the other hand, what do we know about the state?  Precious little I am afraid. Go here to read a shocking article about the program of government secrets that operates in the SDA.  It is downright mind boggling to realize how much is kept from us every day.  Career politicians and government bureaucrats spend their entire careers engaging in activities that none of us ever will know anything about.  It is all done in the name of "national security," of course, but is that really the case?  According to this article, "Government workers classified over 15 million documents last year, more than twice the number classified in 2001. The cost? About $7 billion."   I am forced to conclude one of two things.  If the need for secrecy in the federal government has doubled in the last 15 years then either we are living in a world that is twice as dangerous as it was 15 years ago or the government is meddling in our private affairs twice as much as it used to.  I see no evidence that the world is any more dangerous than it was in the past, especially if I compare conditions today to conditions during the Cold War.  I conclude that the surveillance state has expanded greatly and we are all in danger because of the maleficent intentions of our own government.  As JFK once said, "There is little value in ensuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment."  We have arrived at the time JFK feared.  Welcome to the surveillance state.
A government that is operating according to the principles of the Constitution would find us under a very different set of conditions.  Mick's sorrow that today it is all secrecy and no privacy would turn to rejoicing as we all would live under a government that was totally transparent while our lives would be completely invisible to its prying eyes.  All secrecy and no privacy is a good thing when put in the right direction.  There should be no secrecy in government.  No government official should be able to claim the right to not answer a question of even the lowest citizen of the land.  That includes matters of "national security" and "military operations."  I know the argument.  If career politicians tell us what they know our brave men in uniform will be killed by the citizens of the lands they are occupying.  When they say this it never occurs to them that the imperial dreams of the SDA are the cause of the problem, not the need for transparency.  If the SDA were not prosecuting wars of imperial expansion there would be no conditions under which a need for secrecy would be derived.  So don't try using that argument.
Hillary's emails should all be public.  So should King Obama's.  No person who works for the government should ever be able to classify any document related to his work, ever.  The operating principle would be "no privacy."
On the other hand, citizens would be totally free.  The government would know nothing about us except that we are citizens of the land and we pay our taxes.  The government has a right to know the information that is public about me.  I am not describing anarchy here.  Government has a legitimate function and a legitimate right to fund itself with ten percent of my annual income.  To that end the government should be able to know what my gross annual income was, as I report it.  If it contests my numbers it can take me to court to prove that I have lied.  The government also has the right to know that I am married since that is additional public information about me that can be used to protect my wife if I commit adultery. As to all of my private affairs the rule would be a simple one...."all secrecy."

A Depressing Day at the Rockies Home Opener

The Colorado Rockies had their home opener last Friday versus the New York Mets.  They won the game although I do not remember the score.  I was so overcome by depression after the game I have lost all memories of what took place during the game except those items that made me so upset.  The opener was an afternoon game on a sunny day at Coors Field.  Everything was set up for a wonderful day at the ball park until statism took over.  Let me tell you about it.
Baseball is a game played by children.  I played it every summer day for years as a child.  For some reason that I do understand, adults developed a fondness for the game and came to be willing to put down some of their hard earned cash to watch fellow adults play a child's game.  If you love baseball you know what I mean.  If you don't, there is nothing I can write that will explain the affection baseball fans have for the game.  Regardless, baseball evolved in the free market into a financial behemoth.  The average salary for an MLB player this year is $4 million.  Lots of that money comes from huge television contracts that pay the league enormous amounts of money for the opportunity to broadcast the games.  Obviously a lot of people are watching the televised games, I am one of them, because ratings are good and advertising revenues are large enough to allow players to make tons of money.  Good for them.
The point of that previous paragraph is simply that baseball evolved in the free market.  It is a sterling example of how the free market produces goods and services for sovereign consumers.  When consumers are satisfied with the goods and services being produced they pay money to enjoy them.  The more satisfied they are the more they will pay.  Not being a socialist or a communist sympathizer I am not bothered by the fact that baseball players earn more in one year than teachers, firefighters and cops earn in their entire careers.  Let the market determine the pay scale.  That is my motto.
When I settled down to watch the home opener I did not expect to see a series of ceremonies celebrating the free market, although I would have been pleased if that had taken place.  I knew that a couple of ceremonies were scheduled to honor the players from last year's team that accomplished significant statistical milestones during the year.  Justin Morneau was honored for winning the NL batting title.  Nolan Arenado and D J LeMahue were given their "gold gloves" after winning that award for third base and second base, respectively.  There were brief speeches, some applause and a feel good moment for everyone.  I appreciated that.  Then a dark cloud rolled across the sky and covered the stadium.  Everything suddenly turned ominously depressing.
After the players were honored a series of members of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika's military were introduced.  What they had to do with baseball or the free market was not explained.  Then a military color guard marched across the field as the fans in attendance were ordered to stand and respect the flag of the SDA.  After the color guard was in place the Air Force Academy Brass played the SDA National Hymn.  Everyone was ordered to stand, put their hands over their hearts and sing along.  At the conclusion of the National Hymn the 120th Fighter Squadron of the Colorado Air National Guard conducted a "flyover."  I was looking for cover, thinking about jumping into the visiting team's dugout in order to avoid the bombs that I expected to see falling from the sky.  Those around me were cheering wildly, many with tears in their eyes as they contemplated the fact that the SDA military can kill anyone it wants any time it wants.  I sat there incredulous.  I thought to myself, what does any of this have to do with baseball?
Each game usually starts with a ceremonial first pitch.  The person selected to throw out the first pitch is usually some child who has won a contest that gives him the privilege of going on to the field and chucking the ball in the general direction of the Rockie's catcher.  Besides his parents I doubt most people even pay attention to the ceremony.  Opening day is different.  The first pitch on this day was thrown out by a uniformed officer of the law.  He was cheered wildly by the fans who obviously wanted to show that they were solid proponents of law and order, whatever that means.  I sat there dumbfounded.  What does being a cop have to do with baseball?  I just could not figure it out.
Then the entire squad from both teams were introduced.  I kind of liked that.  It gave me a chance to put a face to the new names on the team.  What shocked and amazed me was that while the teams were being introduced a gigantic SDA flag was unfurled.  The flag covered the entire outfield.  I was totally confused.  What does the religious emblem of the SDA have to do with who is on the team this year?  I still haven't figured that one out.  Finally the ceremonies were over and the game began.
The seventh inning stretch is a baseball tradition.  It began years ago when some career politician attended a baseball game and got up to leave the stadium in the middle of the seventh inning.  Out of respect for his office the fans in attendance stood up.  Ever since then fans have stood up in the middle of the seventh inning.  The Rockies usually play a version of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the stretch and many fans will sing along.  On high, holy days however, the Rockies follow the pattern of other MLB teams and play "God Bless America."  Today was no different.  In the middle of the seventh inning the fans were ordered to stand on their feet and join in invoking the God of the Bible to bless Amerika.
Since 1900 the SDA military and career politicians have killed about 27 million foreigners.  That number includes those who were killed directly by the military as well as those who starved to death as a result of SDA sanctions.  I am assured by loyal patriots that all 27 million of those stinking foreigners deserved exactly what they got, probably because they did not proclaim that the SDA is the greatest country in the history of the world.  Some of them no doubt had the audacity to not fear the SDA.  They signed their own death warrants.  Since 1973 women in Amerika have conspired with government licensed "doctors" to murder 54 million babies.  No doubt each of those babies deserved exactly what it got.  Being allowed to be born would have seriously cramped the lifestyle of drunkenness and fornication of the mothers so the kids had to die.
Why should I be compelled to invoke God to bless Amerika? Why should God bless a nation of people who hate Him and flagrantly violate His holy law daily?  Why should God not judge this sin-filled nation for its multitude of murders and idolatries?  And most of all on that day, what does any of this statism have to do with baseball?  I am still depressed just writing about it.  I think I will go watch the Rockies. They are playing the Giants tonight and I hope there will not be any state worship.

Smokers, Homosexuals and Smoking Homosexuals

According to the CDC, "Percentage of U.S. adults aged 18 years or older who were current cigarette smokers in 2012: 18.1% of all adults (42.1 million people): 20.1% of males, 14.5% of females. 21.8% of non-Hispanic American Indians/Alaska Natives. 19.7% of non-Hispanic Whites."
According to this website, here is a list of "10 Deadly Diseases Caused By Smoking."
  1.  COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  2. Cardiovascular (heart) disease
  3. Cancer (lung cancer, esophagus cancer, larynx cancer, mouth cancer, throat cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, pancreas cancer, stomach cancer, Cancer of the pancreas, and Liver cancer.)
  4. Emphysema
  5. Chronic Bronchitis
  6. Asthma
  7. Stroke
  8. Hypertension
  9. Atherosclerosis (buildup of fatty substances in the arteries)
  10. Impotence
I am not sure I would classify impotence as a "deadly disease" but when it comes to smoking and smokers no exaggeration is too extreme.  I believe we all know the argument against smokers.  Their habit is disgusting.  Their habit is harmful.  Second hand smoke is as deadly, or more deadly, than first hand smoke. Smokers are sick all the time and they are a terrible burden upon the health care system, whatever that is, of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  Because smokers are such disgusting and subhuman creatures we are free to discriminate against them in any way we wish.  Laws are created every day that single out smokers for discriminatory treatment and there is nothing they can do to stop it.  If you do not believe me, read here, here, here, here, here and here.  I challenge you to read that series of posts to this blog and come to any conclusion other than smokers are subhuman neanderthals who deserve all the bad treatment they get.
I was watching the television the other night and a couple of commercials came on promoting tourism in Minnesota.  The commercial showed handsome, lively, kind, generous, non-discriminating and healthy homosexual men frolicking in Minnesota.  They invited me to join them.  I think I will pass. But it did get me to thinking.  Just how healthy are homosexuals?  Here is what I discovered.
According to the CDC, "Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) have been increasing among gay and bisexual men, with recent increases in syphilis being documented across the country. In 2012, men who have sex with men (MSM) accounted for 75% of primary and secondary syphilis cases in the United States. MSM often are diagnosed with other STDs, including chlamydia and gonorrhea infections.  HPV (Human Papillomavirus), the most common STD in the United States, is also a concern for MSM. Some types of HPV can cause genital and anal warts and some can lead to the development of anal and oral cancer. Men who have sex with men are 17 times more likely to develop anal cancer than heterosexual men. Men who are HIV-positive are even more likely than those who are uninfected to develop anal cancer."
According to this website, "High rates of intestinal parasitism are found in MSM [men who have sex with men] throughout the world."
According to this website, "A new variety of staph bacteria, highly resistant to antibiotics and possibly transmitted by sexual contact, is spreading among gay men in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles, researchers reported Monday....MRSA infection is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria — often called 'staph.' MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It's a strain of staph that's resistant to the broad-spectrum antibiotics commonly used to treat it. MRSA can be fatal....We are nowhere near the peak. The peak will occur when it spreads into the general population."
According to this website, "Within the male homosexuality community, there is a subculture of overweight/obese homosexuals which is called the chubby culture (an overweight male homosexual within this subculture is called a "chub")....Homosexual women are less concentrated on physical appearance and more satisfied with their bodies while being more tolerant to obesity.... For lesbian women the ideal body image is more massive than for heterosexual women....Some of the medical conditions associated with obesity include: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides, coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, arthritis, cancer, sleep apnea, reproductive problems in women and varicose veins. In addition, medical science research indicates that excess weight impairs brain function."
So there you have it.  Homosexuals engage in a lifestyle, just like smokers, that is harmful to their health.  Not only is it harmful to their health, just like smoking it is also harmful to those who are around them.  Just like second hand smoke kills innocent little children when they whiff the air, antibiotic resistant bacteria created by homosexual activity also kills the innocent when they become infected by it.  Homosexuals, because of their lifestyle choices and just like smokers, are a tremendous burden upon the health care system of the Socialist Democracy of Amerika.  In fact, except for the choice of behavior, it seems to me as if smokers and homosexuals pretty much should occupy the same caste in the SDA.
I think you can guess my next question.  If smokers are members of the pariah class, why are homosexuals given a free pass?  Indeed, homosexuals are not just given a "Get Out of the Pariah Class Free" card, they are given most favored treatment by the government despite the fact their choice of behavior is at least as harmful and deadly to themselves and others as smoking.  Hummmm.......I wonder why that is?  Do you know?  Please help me to understand.  Why are smokers discriminated against and homosexuals are given special government privileges?
